Jarvyn is a personal home-fermentation journal. Track active batches on a kanban Board, manage recipes and pantry stock, log observations with photos and tasting notes, and use Tools for projects, archives, and reports — all on your device.

No. Jarvyn works entirely offline on your device with no sign-up. Your data is stored locally. Back up your iPhone regularly via iCloud or Finder to avoid losing your journal if you replace your device.

Go to Recipes, pick a template or your own recipe, and tap Start Batch. Or tap + on the Board to create a batch from scratch. Set a project name, category, and target ferment days to see it on your Board columns.

Open Me → Batch Reminders to configure global alerts before batches reach their target date, plus an optional weekly digest. For a single batch, open the batch detail and tap Notify Me to schedule a one-time notification.

Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Jarvyn and ensure alerts are allowed. In the app, confirm reminders are enabled under Batch Reminders or that Notify Me is turned on for the specific batch. If permission was denied earlier, use Open iOS Notification Settings inside the reminders screen.

App Settings → Default Batch Length pre-fills target ferment days when you create a new batch by category — these are not calendar dates and do not send notifications. Actual alert schedules live under Batch Reminders and per-batch Notify Me.

Jar Coins are in-app currency used for premium features such as HD batch label exports, observation log PDFs, monthly reports, premium label styles, and extra custom recipe slots. You start with a free balance and can buy more in Me → Coin Store.

All Jar Coin packs are consumable credits credited to your balance at purchase time. If a purchase did not credit coins, open Coin Store and tap Restore Purchases, or contact support@jarvyn.app with your Apple receipt.

In-app purchases are processed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support directly. We cannot issue refunds on Apple's behalf.

Open Me → Clear All Data. This permanently removes all projects, batches, observations, and pantry items and resets Jar Coins to the default starting amount. Demo data will not return. This action cannot be undone.

Yes. From a batch detail you can export an HD batch label or observation log PDF (uses Jar Coins). Recipes can be exported as PDF from the recipe detail screen. Monthly reports are available under Tools or Me.

Go to iOS Settings → Jarvyn and enable Camera and Photos. If you previously denied access, Jarvyn will prompt you to open Settings from the permission dialog.

Enable Microphone for Jarvyn in iOS Settings. Voice notes are stored locally and attached to observations or recipes.

Force-quit and reopen Jarvyn. Ensure you are on the latest iOS version supported by the app. If problems persist, email support@jarvyn.app with your device model, iOS version, and what you were doing when the issue occurred.
